HISTORY
Bismarck Deeps (Lucknow) Gold Mines N.L. was a New South Wales no-liability gold mining company formed in the early 1930s to work the Lucknow gold field near Orange, one of Australia’s older and better-known mining districts. It was active by 1935, holding shareholder meetings and operating as part of the interwar revival in small speculative gold ventures that sought to reopen or deepen established workings as gold economics improved. The company remained on the market for some years before later disappearing from the official list, showing it was removed by Stock Exchange order on 1 September 1954.
