HISTORY
Cairns Brewing Company Limited was a Far North Queensland brewing venture formed in the mid-1920s to establish a substantial local brewery in Cairns at a time when the region was growing and still relied heavily on beer shipped from the south. Contemporary reports from 1924 describe the company being launched with capital of £150,000 in £1 shares, matching the terms printed on this certificate, and later historical accounts note that its first beer reached the market in 1925. The company appears to have been short-lived in its original form, however, with later heritage histories recording that the Cairns Brewing Company soon went into liquidation and that a successor brewing company took over the brewery in the late 1920s.
