HISTORY
Patrick Corporation Limited was a major Australian transport and logistics company best known for stevedoring, or loading and unloading ships at major ports. Although its name does not immediately suggest shipping, it grew into one of Australia’s best-known waterfront operators and later expanded into rail freight and other transport interests. The company is also remembered for its central role in the 1998 waterfront dispute, an important event in Australian industrial history, and it was eventually taken over by Toll Holdings, with the Patrick name continuing today in Australian port operations.
