Q.B.T. Holdings Ltd. was a short-lived Australian insurance holding company created in 1973 as part of the merger of Queensland Insurance and Bankers’ and Traders’ Insurance, with the business soon broadened to include Equitable Life and General Insurance as well. The company was essentially a transitional vehicle in the creation of what became QBE Insurance Group, and official market records show that Q.B.T. Holdings Ltd changed its name to QBE Insurance Group Limited on 25 October 1973.
