HISTORY
Riverina & North East Victoria TV Limited was the company formed when RVN-2 Wagga Wagga and AMV-4 Albury merged in 1971, creating a single regional television business serving the Riverina and north-east Victoria under the on-air identity RVN-AMV. Both stations had begun broadcasting in 1964, and the merger reflected the financial pressures facing regional television operators at the time. The merged company remained a significant regional broadcaster through the 1970s and 1980s, later becoming part of the network that evolved into Prime Television after Paul Ramsay’s group gained control in 1985. This 1972 certificate therefore comes from the early years of that merged cross-border television service.
